‘Pet Man’ to go on screen at two intl. festivals

TEHRAN, Oct. 28 (MNA) – Iranian animated short ‘Pet Man’, directed by Marzieh Abrar Paidar, has been accepted to compete at two international film festivals in US and Spain.

Pet man will initially go on screen in 2nd round of International Sick Chick Flicks Film Festival in US in October 28-29. Iranian animated short film has reached final round to win best animated short film and will compete with 15 films from US, Austria, UK and Portugal.

The Iranian short will then be on screen in Environmental Film Festival in Spain from November 2 to 9. This festival is dedicated to films addressing environmental and artistic points of view. Pet man has been nominated to receive the Golden Sun award at Spain’s International Environmental Film Festival also known as FICMA in competition with 50 other films.

Pet man retells the story of an animal seller who sees a horrific nightmare in which he is trapped inside an animal cage. His efforts to escape from animals prove futile as he faces with obstacles each time.

In its previous screenings, Pet man won international awards from NEZ International Film Festival in India and Canterbury Festival in UK.

The Iranian animated short was among the top ten animated short films at Innsbruck Nature Film Festival (INFF) held in Austria and was nominated at International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival in Malaysia. Pet man also went on screen in SICAF animated film festival in South Korea.
